I have to say you were brave to cycle some of these roads, I have spent my life cycling around Essex even as a small boy going off for the day with my mates and cycling miles. I cannot imagine my children doing the same thing and certainly todays road users are an inconsiderate bunch at the best of times, keep up the good work though, are you doing more for 2010??

Hi Gregory! It's the young couple from near Crask Inn. How are you doing? Really interesting reading about your recollections - congratulations on finishing the trip! All the best! J & R

I arrived a little later than planned at the B&B, but part of that was down to managing to cycle straight past the road without realising it. I'm glad you've recovered, especially as you were on earlies the next day. The rest should be pretty easy now, especially as I know the best part of the Lee Valley to home from memory.

Yes, I did Riccall to Howden and beyond to where it meets NCR1 near the Humber Bridge. Much of my planned route was influenced by what we haven't yet got mapped on OpenCycleMap. Though, of course, many bits have been mapped since I started my planning back in April 2008.

Looks like you zoomed through my part of the world. Did you follow the NCN 65 from Ricall to Howden so it will end up on the cyclemap?

Well done so far. Have a great ride home.

Cheers, Chris

I guess I'll just have to go back and cycle that at some other time. At the rate OSM is progressing though I'm sure that someone will have mapped it in the meantime.
